Injuries that could be avoided in Arizona car crashes

In car accidents, there are several types of injuries that could be avoided if proper precautions are taken. For instance, it may be possible to reduce the number of brain injuries that occur by driving or riding in a car with proper front and side airbags. While some believe that airbags may be harmful, their benefits generally outweigh the risks.

Whiplash and other neck and back injuries may be reduced by wearing a proper safety restraint while in a moving vehicle. Injuries such as a slipped disc or a fracture could linger for years and cause chronic pain. Facial injuries may be avoided by simply using the hands to cover and wrap the face. This may be effective in preventing debris such as glass from causing cuts or abrasions.

Facial injuries may also be reduced by using a seat belt properly. Doing so may prevent an individual from being thrown through a window or slammed against a seat or other interior section of the vehicle. Preventing injuries to the knees or feet may be as easy as maintaining proper posture while sitting in a moving vehicle. Taking care to avoid sitting at awkward angles could significantly reduce injuries to the lower extremities.

The severity of an injury suffered in a car accident depends on many factors. However, using seat belts and other restraints may significantly reduce the occurrence or severity of brain, neck or back injuries. Those who have been injured in a car accident may wish to talk to a personal injury attorney. An attorney may be able to help an injured party win compensation for medical bills and lost wages. It may also be possible to win compensation for punitive damages due to driver negligence.
