According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a moving truck was involved in a multi-vehicle wreck near downtown Phoenix that injured multiple people. The Interstate 10 accident transpired at approximately 11 a.m. on Sept. 9.
That is when a U-Haul traveling east on the interstate attempted to make a lane change but clipped an eastbound Nissan Altima, authorities stated. Consequently, the Nissan driver lost control of the vehicle and traversed the median, ultimately striking a westbound pick-up truck head-on. Following the incident, the driver of the U-haul failed to stop but continued driving east on I-10, authorities reported.
The driver of the Nissan suffered serious injuries as a result of the wreck. A passenger in the Nissan was also injured, authorities stated. The driver of the pickup reportedly suffered minor injuries.
As this case illustrates, head-on collisions can be particularly violent, wreaking immeasurable damage and resulting in serious if not life-threatening injuries. These accident-related injuries may require lengthy hospital stays, intense and long-term medical care and costly rehabilitation. Thus, in many cases, accident victims must bear not just physical afflictions but also financial stress on account of a traffic accident.
That is why it is important for all the parties involved in the incident to be identified. In the event that investigators determine that the crash was caused by another party’s actionable behavior, such as reckless or negligent driving, the people who suffered injuries may be eligible to pursue personal injury compensation through civil action. To be more specific, accident victims may file a personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault party, seeking restitution for hospital bills, medical costs and even lost wages associated with their injuries.
