A car accident that occurred in Arizona on July 4 left one person dead and at least two others with injuries. According to the report, the incident, which occurred on Interstate 10 in Tucson, involved a passenger car and two semi-trucks.

A captain with Northwest Fire stated that one of the semi-trucks was heading west on the interstate. Shortly before 12 p.m., the driver suddenly crossed over the median and into oncoming traffic. The semi-truck collided with a second semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The driver of the westbound semi-truck did not survive the accident.

The driver of the other semi-truck that was involved suffered head injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition but stable condition. The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 64-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital to receive treatment for a leg injury and neck pain before being released. Several hours after the accident occurred, it was not known what caused the driver of the semi-truck to cross into oncoming traffic.

Any number of situations can contribute to a truck accident. For example, a driver might have been driving while fatigued, suffered a medical emergency, or even could have been driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Those who suffer serious injuries in these types of accidents may be eligible to file personal injury lawsuits against the at-fault driver. If a commercial vehicle was involved, the company that owned the truck or employed the driver might also be liable. By filing this type of lawsuit, an injured party could seek the recovery of his or her medical or other accident-related expenses.
